When I make the models I draw my inspirations from real children as well as my imagination. Redhead Melvin, for example, looks like a little boy from Manchester. I took a photograph of him in the streets as he reminder me of a friend from my childhood days who I had long forgotten.
In most case I get my inspiration by everyday situations and not by origin, language, or colour of skin. It is the nature and character of a child that fascinates me".
